While surfing through the web, I ran into a article by CNN relating to Google. The article spoke of an idea Google was developing and their vision of the near future. After reading the excerpt, I got drawn to the article and had to read the full thing. I thought the faithful users of this forum will enjoy a little new update to the tech world after a long time of little to no update.

(CNN) — Google is jumping into Microsoft Windows territory — and threatening to change the way personal computers work — with its own version of a computer operating system.

The company says the forthcoming Google Chrome OS will revolutionize how computers operate, putting more emphasis on Web functionality, making computers faster and opening them up to helpful tinkering by outside program developers. (more…)

Google has been getting a special Mother Day logo each year since year 2000 and 2009 is no exception the new 2009 Mother Day Logo just went live on Google Homepage but visitors from USA might not see it yet on their Google Homepage as there is still sometime till Mothers Day there.

Browser version of Google Earth

On Thursday Google has reveled the Browser version of it much famed Application Google Earth, so any of you guys who don’t want to download the Google Earth Application or want to use the Google Earth Application on some other PC which doesn’t have Google Earth installed you can use the Browser version of Google Earth which is being called Google Sky i wonder why the change of name for the browser version.

Google Sky will allows you to zoom in and out and browse around the celestial bodies, search for planets and galaxies and view the sky through infrared, x-ray, ultraviolet, and microwave views. It also includes galleries of some of the best photos taken by the Hubble telescope. You can also listen to podcasts and look at historical maps of the sky.g
