I cant upgrade my firmware either because then i wont be able to unlock the newer firmware. So here is a trick if you have a JailBroken iPhone and you don’t want to loose your iPhone Unlock by upgrading to firmware v2.2.1 you can use the following method to install iPhone v2.2.1 Apps on your iPhone v2.2.

1. Open up Cydia on your iPhone
2. Search for FW Changer in Cydia
3. Install FW Changer and open FW Changer
4. In FW Changer set FW version to 2.2.1
5. In Build write : 5H11
6. Press Set Custom Firmware & Restart
7. Connect to iTunes it will show up as 2.2.1 and install your Apps
